Objective and Purpose of the Assignment This regional technical assistance is designed to strengthen focus of the CAREC Institute's capacity
building initiatives to be more in line with the requirements of the CAREC program. The proposed
engagement of a national consultant to perform general administration of the TA will ensure timely and
effective implementation, as well as efficient coordination of CAREC Institute activities.

Scope of Work The CI coordinator will assist with overall TA 8301 administration and monitoring, and coordination with
CI and concerned ADB units. The consultant will be reporting to the project officer handling CI matters
under the CAREC Secretariat.

Detailed Tasks and/or Expected Output The CI coordinator's deliverables will include, but are not limited to the following:

• Assistance in overall TA administration, to include monitoring of TA activities and fund status
• Assistance with review of CAREC event concepts, reports including research outputs
• Draft/review TA reports and administrative actions such as changes in implementation arrangements,
extensions, etc.
• Facilitate financial administration of TA activities, including requests for payment, liquidations,
among others.
• Provide inputs to bi-annual project data sheet updating exercises
• Assistance with engagement of consultants to support CI (short term and long term)
• Assist in the organization of CI missions and CI related meetings, videoconferences, telecons, etc.
• Assistance with logistics for CAREC meetings and events including financial liquidation etc
• Assist on other related tasks with the scope of work, as requested by the task manager

Minimum Qualification Requirements The CI coordinator will be familiar with ADB project processing and implementation, especially for TA
projects, working of cofinancing and related reporting, knowledge management with a proven track record
of excellent outputs in this field. Knowledge of ADB systems and guidelines are preferred. He/she must
be a graduate in economics, social sciences. Interest and work in research will be a plus.
