Objective and Purpose of the Assignment

The objective of this assignment is to prepare for a MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) design, drawing and Bill of Quantity (BOQ) for a new interdisciplinary research support center and agropreneur startup center in BAU. The consultant will also prepare MEP services design for renovation and refurbishment of existing buildings in BAU renovate and refurbish existing buildings to provide better teaching and learning environment.


Scope of Work

The consultant will assist BAU in preparing for a MEP design, drawing and Bill of Quantity (BOQ) for a new interdisciplinary research support center in BAU which includes Bio safety laboratories as well. The consultant will also assist BAU in preparing MEP drawings for renovation and refurbishment of existing buildings in BAU. The consultant is expected to work closely with other ADB consultants (e.g., architect, interior designer, civil engineering, procurement, DPP experts) recruited under ADB technical assistance.


Detailed Tasks and/or Expected Output

The mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) expert will be responsible for the following principal tasks:

(i) Understand BAU vision and mission to develop interdisciplinary research support center and agropreneur startup center which will be open to other stakeholders in government, research institutions and private sector;

(ii) Develop a conceptual design and detail drawing for MEP services for a new interdisciplinary research support center in BAU based on inputs from BAU faculty members;

(iii) Develop a conceptual design and detail drawing for MEP services for an agropreneur startup center in BAU;

(iv) Develop MEP drawings which will be coordinated with other services and structure in Revit Platform;

(v) Develop Airflow pattern CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) simulations for critical areas;

(vi) Provide energy consumption analysis that should adopt green building requirements for above new buildings;

(vii) Provide power consumption and electrical distribution network design for the facility services and equipment;

(viii) Provide water distribution, plumbing network and inter connectivity between lab equipment and facility services;and

(ix) Assist BAU in developing MEP drawings for renovation and refurbishment of existing buildings in BAU.


Minimum Qualification Requirements

The MEP consultant is preferred to have a Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering and minimum 8 years of general work experiences with 5 years of experience in MEP designing works. The consultant is also preferred to have experiences in designing HVAC system for Biosafety Lab and Cleanroom Facilities. The consultant should have firsthand experience in coordination drawing in Building Information Modeling platform (preferably REVIT) & CFD Simulation for complex projects. The consultant is also preferred to have knowledge on airflow control and air cleaning technologies.
